Highway to hell!

I'm guessing this is pretty much what the lucky owner will look like as he's approaching the end of the strip! lol

Another Rocky Mountain Motorworks Resorations project!

Here is another of the vehicles that was in at Rocky Mountain Motorworks Restorations in Colorado Springs whilst I was visiting.
It's still a drag strip virgin but will be hitting the Qtr mile at Bandemere dragstrip in Denver this season. Sould apparently (if the calculations have come out right) be somewhere in the 10s or 11s or so I'm told.

Jeremy & co. at Motorworks had done the bodywork side of things - impeccable finish throughout!

Pigalle !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mike Dempster popped round today to do some parts swaps! Had a bit of a surprise when he turned up in his PIG - thought he would have been coming in his Golf.

First time I've seen this one in the flesh and how cool is it??? VERY - especially with the complete pigalle red interior.

HOW RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Trunk Rack

This cool limited edition chrome trunk rack arrived whilst I was off on holiday. Made by Pedro Sainz over in sunny California (the same guy who did the spot lamp bars and fellow 1500 club member)

I ordered this one with non stained wood and have now stained it in the same stuff I did the chrome roof rack in. Looks pretty sweet eh? !

I added a few extra rubber feet to protect the paintwork so should now be good for haulin' the luggage on the way to Ninove!

Dealer Decals

Bit of a crappy picture but these are top quality.

If anyone want any repro Dealership decals then drop me a line. I've got the names, addresses and phone numbers of all of the VW dealerships in Europe from the 60s and me and mr gizmobob can make up decals for any of them if you want.

They can either be a water slide decal or a proper sticker (I think water slide works best personally)

if interested contact me or gizmobob via our samba adverts.

VW Sidedraft carb Matra Wrench

Here is one of the rare VW Matra tools specific to single carb type 3 engines.

If you've ever tried to remove a single side draft carb from a vw type 3 engine you will know that it is impossible to get to the bottom carb to manifold nut off without removing the whole manifold (also a bitch of a job!)

This is the wrench (of spanner as we Brits would call it!) that was designed to let you get at the nut concerned!

If anyone wants to buy one drop me a line as I have one spare. Contact me either by leaving your email address as a reply to this post or contact me via one of my samba ads.

********** SOLD ***********

Another uber early piece for the car

A while ago Mike Dempster gave me a couple of really beat up early "slashed end" type 3 sill trims - the slightly later trims feature rounded ends.

It's amazing what a bit of elbow grease will do!!!!!!

all nice n' shiny now!

cheers Mike.

Go Mammoths!!!!

I'll bet you can't guess what this below pic is the lead up to???

Yep - This is the pre game hype for a Lacrosse game!!! We went to see the Colorado Mammoth play the Calgary Roughnecks on Sunday at the Pepsi Center in Denver. This was a first time trip for all of us - Couldn't believe the number of people there - almost as many as for the ice hockey.
And these guys are crazy - the players are a bit nuts too but it is mainly the fans that have a few screws loose! Deffinitely an experience ! lol

Ski Pics

So! where did we ski???

Keystone

Vail

Breckenridge

Copper Mountain

Now that I'm back - just wanted to say a BIG thanks to Rob, Kir, Cam & Jamie. I had a blast guys. See you in April!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:-)

Ice Hockey trip!

Kir sorted out some VIP tickets for the Ice Hockey match in Denver

Calgary Flames vs. Colorado Avalanche

Great game but sadly the 'Avs' lost :-(

More pics from Colorado

Here are some more of the various VW's spotted in and around Colorado Springs.

Been Driving

Well - considering it's still the start of February - the weather over here has been fabulous this weekend so I dusted off the notch and went for a spin in Sherwood Forest - once again I failed to spot Robin Hood - never mind ;-)
