I've now got 2 of these Tachowellenschalter for sale - these are what you need to fit reverse lights onto your early type 3 - it screws onto the back of your tacho, then you screw the tacho cable onto the switch - As soon as the car goes backwards, and the tacho cable obviously turns the wrong way, it makes a circuit and lights your reverse lamp(s).
